Adolescents, also known as The Blue Album due to its cover design, is the debut studio album by American punk rock band the Adolescents, released in April 1981 on Frontier Records. Recorded after guitarist Rikk Agnew and drummer Casey Royer joined the band, it features several songs written for their prior group, the Detours, including "Kids of the Black Hole" and "Amoeba", which became two of the Adolescents' most well-known songs.

The Adolescents remained dormant throughout the 1990s but members participated in a number of different bands. In 2001, the Blue Album line-up reunited again to play shows live shows. Casey Royer and Rikk Agnew soon bowed out but the band. By 2006, Steve Soto and Tony Brandenburg were the only remaining members of the band's original line-up.

Adolescents is in my opinion a landmark albumand a punk classic with Tony's vocals at their peak. On subsequent albums his voice has changed to a more hard rock scream than a Rotten-esque punk screech. Rikk Agnew's guitar is amazing for his age and I urge all fans of this album to check out his solo albums, especially All By Myself. An interesting side note is the fact that which band member(s) wrote each song is included with the list of tracks. Love this album it is on my top 5 list.
