Bites and Remission is a compilation by Skinny Puppy released on Nettwerk in 1987. The release of this compilation coincides with that of Remission & Bites and contains many of the same songs, albeit in a different context. This compilation culls songs from the assorted releases of Skinny Puppy's first two albums, Remission and Bites, and features remixes of two songs in place of their original versions. The most notable samples on the song "The Choke (Re-Grip)" are from 1976 film The Tenant.
Rabies is the fifth studio album by Skinny Puppy. It was released on November 21, 1989 through Nettwerk. The album spawned two singles, "Tin Omen" and "Worlock", the latter of which becoming one of the band's most recognizable songs. The cover art was made by longtime Skinny Puppy collaborator Steven R. Gilmore
Bites, Skinny Puppy's first album, recalls the gloomy throb of Cabaret Voltaire, but with a more pronounced beat; their debut EP, Remission, is also included on the CD. Track Listing.
Skinny Puppy disbanded for a time, following the death of Goettel by overdose in August 1995. Their final album "The Process" was completed and released in early 1996, and quickly became a bridge that earned the band many new fans. After a 5 year absence, they reformed in 2000 for a one-off concert appearance at the Doomsday festival in Dresden, Germany (which has since been released as Back And Forth, Vol. 5 in 2001). The first studio album since their reformation "The Greater Wrong Of The Right" was released after years of anticipation in 2004.
