Black Tide was an American heavy metal band from Kendall, Florida. Formed in 2004, the band consists of Gabriel Garcia (lead vocals and bass), Austin Diaz (guitar and vocals) and Cody Paige (drums). They released their debut album, Light from Above, on March 18, 2008 through Interscope Records when Garcia was 15 years old. Their second album, Post Mortem, was released on August 23, 2011.

Miami's own Black Tide make their triumphant return with ‘Post Mortem,’ the follow-up to their 2008 debut release, ‘Light From Above. One might say that if you release your major-label debut as teenagers that there’s nowhere to go but up, but Black Tide's growth on this album transcends the natural evolution of their coming of age. With looming expectations after delivering such a delectable debut, ‘Post Mortem’ takes the band in a new direction that might surprise a few people.

So overall I wouldn't recommend getting the album, listen to an MP3 first before you are certain of getting it. 5 Комментарии. samolice - 09 Декабрь 2012: What a shame! First album was awesome. What happened to the band? I can't understand.

Redirected from That Fire (Black Tide song)). Post Mortem is the second album by the American heavy metal band Black Tide, released on August 23, 2011. The album was produced by Josh Wilbur and GGGarth. It is the band's first album to feature guitarist Austin Diaz, after the departure of Alex Nuñez in 2008.

Black Tide makes no apologies about worshipping at the altar of Metallica. Their 2008 debut Light from Above even boasted an impressive cover of Hit The Lights. The Miami quartet’s sophomore long-player is a bit of a departure in style. Where their first album resonated with a deep love for Metallica’s ‘80s thrash-metal, Post Mortem echoes Metallica’s move into ‘90s stadium-friendly hard rock. The singing is especially strong here as it features guest.

What must be understood is that if the listener comes into Post Mortem expecting something interesting or groundbreaking, they will find themselves being bored to tears. A couple of things have changed from their debut effort Light From Above. Firstly the clean vocals have improved, with the inclusion of screamed passages. The drums now incorporate double bass work and the bass guitar has a stronger presence. Post Mortem has also seen a slightly heavier writing style losing Light From Above’s rather thrash rock sound. Lyrically, Post Mortem is uninspiring. Most songs incorporate large amounts.
