Around the Sun is the 13th studio album by the American alternative rock band . released in October 2004 on Warner Bros. The Outsiders" features a guest appearance by rapper Q-Tip. When the song was performed live, Michael Stipe carried out the rap, as he did on a later b-side release of the song.

Author Dmitry Yursky92. That I don't understand. Now I know that the sun has shined on my side of the street. The basket of America, the weevils and the wheat. The milk and honeyed congregation, scrubbed and apple-cheeked Salute Apollo 13 from the rattle jewelry seats.

Around The Sun. Encapsulating the album's strengths and weaknesses, this is a very pretty song but one that leaves the listener asking "Yes, but what of it"". It's guitar oriented, unlike much of the music on this album, but still follows the same basic formula, and the band should probably have ended the album at the end of the last track. was also the first concert I went to with my old man. zakalwe September 2nd 2016.

On their third post-Berry album, Around the Sun, Buck, Mills, and Stipe have settled on an uneasy mixture of textureless production and tentative stabs at past glory. On lead track and first single, "Leaving New York", Stipe harmonizes with himself in a low voice that could have been sampled from Reckoning. Final Straw" borrows its whirling organ from Out of Time 's "Low", and Q-Tip's cameo on "The Outsider" recalls KRS-One's appearance on "Radio Song". But Around the Sun manages to overcome at least some of its shortcomings thanks to Stipe's new role as shunned lover. Having once promised he would never write a love song- or lip-sync in a video, or carry on past 1999, or play as a trio- he sounds very new to the form, and songs like "Make It All OK" and "High Speed Train" even sound endearingly awkward and vulnerable.

Produced by Pat McCarthy & . Album Around the Sun. Around the Sun Lyrics. I want the sun to shine on me I want the truth to set me free I wish the followers would lead With a voice so strong it could knock me to my knees

Around the Sun will never be hailed as a classic the way many of their previous albums have. Its soft acoustic sounds and slow pacing don't work as well as they did on albums like Automatic for the People and Reveal, causing the whole album to feel a bit unfocused and unsure of itself. I can understand why many fans were disappointed and understandably so; even the band members themselves seem to wish they had done things differently according to some interviews. The album definitely could have been better but they should be proud of what they did get right, which is really quite. The weakness of an album like "Around the Sun" doesn't lie in the fact that the songs are a little on the slow and quiet side. You can make a decent slow and quiet album, in fact . already did with "U. No, the problem with "Around the Sun" is that the material is weak.

comentando Around The Sun, CD, Album, 9362-48911-2. I don't consider this a real truly REM album. Responder Notifícame Helpful. 5 de febrero de 2017. comentando Around The Sun, 2xLP, Album, 78422. The songs on this Album are more vocal orientated.
