Last of My Kind may be the first ever soundtrack to a book. Nashville musician Paul Burch wrote the gritty folk tunes on the album as an accompaniment to his friend Tony Earley's Depression-era coming-of-age novel, Jim the Boy. Like Earley's universal Mark Twain-esque story, Burch's songs come right from Americans' subconscious, from the collective myth of Americana crystallized in Huck Finn, Tom Joad, and Jay Gatsby.

Paul Burch has released a concept album about country forefather Jimmie Rodgers. Rick Diamond/Getty Images. The idea of a concept album conjures images as diverse as the artists that created them: Pink Floyd’s dystopian The Wall, Green Day’s punk opera American Idiot, Woody Guthrie’s pioneering Dust Bowl Ballads. Indeed, on Meridian Rising, Burch imagines Rodgers’ life as if he were telling the stories straight from the yodeling country-bluesman’s mouth, beginning with his hometown of Meridian, Mississippi, to his death at only 35 at the Hotel Taft in New York City.
Band Name Crescent Shield. Album Name The Last of My Kind. Data wpisu Październik 2006. Wydawcy Cruz Del Sur Music. Styl muzycznyTechnical Thrash. Old school headbangers will surely rejoice over this debut release from Southern California's Crescent Shield. The Last of My Kind serves up eleven tracks of unadulterated, traditional heavy metal that's sure to leave your fingers numb from playing air guitar and your brains rattling in your skull. I honestly didn't think I'd hear this kind of music coming from an American band ever again, but Crescent Shield manage to exploit everything I ever loved about metal in its formative years. I was immediately impressed with Michael Grant's commanding, melodic vocal style
So young, so brazen, so unholy I come to you in painted skies You're broken saint, your ancient story The living challenge to their lies. Trapped in the cold outside There ain't no shelter And they want to force my hand Until I take what I wanted And break all the lies And defeat the fucking liars Smash all the temples And crawl through the rubble And cry to the fallen A wolf alone upon the hillside I live on what they throw away I go to sleep behind . .
Still Crazy After All These Years is the fourth solo studio album by Paul Simon. Recorded and released in 1975, the album produced four . It won two Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1976
The McCartney album was good fun, Paul remembers, because I got a machine from EMI, only a four-track, and I just had it in my living room where I lived in London at the time. I’d just go in for the day like Monsieur Magritte. Go in and do a little bit of stuff and make something up, and knock off in the evenings. It was very interesting to do and it had a certain kind of rawness, because I was breaking loose after The Beatles, we all got a feeling of that, I think.
