Into the Groove" is a song recorded by American singer Madonna for the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan. It was featured on the re-issue of her second studio album, Like a Virgin (1984), outside North America. Sire Records released it on July 23, 1985, as the album's fourth single. Madonna's inspiration behind the song was the dance floor, and she wrote it while watching a handsome Puerto Rican man, across her balcony
Don't Disturb This Groove is the fourth studio album recorded by American R&B/Synthpop band The System. Released by Atlantic Records in 1987, the album became a highlight of The System's career, as it has been the most commercially successful album, surpassing their hugely successful debut, Sweat. It reached No. 62 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the R&B Albums chart. The album was produced by its band members, David Frank and Mic Murphy.
Several disparate elements combined to make Madonna's "Into the Groove" a song that would receive more air play than almost any other unreleased single in pop music history. Her charismatic performance in the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan vaulted what was a supporting role into show-stealing prominence. The rising popularity of MTV helped promote the song, which was the only one by Madonna on the film's soundtrack, with a video that amounted to little more than highlights from the film set to music
