A Hard Day's Night is the third studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 10 July 1964, with side one containing songs from the soundtrack to their film of the same name. The American version of the album was released two weeks earlier, on 26 June 1964 by United Artists Records, with a different track listing.

Its catalogue number is Parlophone GEP 8924. It was also released in France. All songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Side A. "Any Time at All" – 2:14. I'll Cry Instead" – 2:06. Side B. Original motion picture sound track. Released June 26th, 1964. This began immediately after their first historic visit to America in February of 1964. From February 25th to March 1st, eight new songs were completed, which were thought to be plenty to fill the seven song requirement. Two more songs ended up being recorded with the intention of being in the movie. The second George Martin Orchestra single that was released contained the other two instrumental songs on the soundtrack album: "A Hard Day's Night" and "I Should Have Known Better.
Released on 10th July, 1964, the Beatles third album in less than eighteen months was timed to coincide with the cinema opening of their first movie. Of the album's 13 tracks seven were featured in the soundtrack of the film. The US version (issued in late June) was a soundtrack which as well as featuring a number of the songs from the UK album also included four instrumental pieces from the film's soundtrack performed by George Martin's Orchestra.

There are some instrumental version such as one of A Hard Day's Night and others. 2 people found this helpful. So this was really just a nostalgia trip for me to hear the George Martin versions of This Boy, A Hard Day's Night, I Should Have Known Better and And I Love Her. I grew up hearing these instrumentals scattered among the actual Beatles songs, and was curious. I still enjoy listening to them.
