Flemming Rasmussen (born 1 January 1958 in Copenhagen) is a Danish engineer, producer, mixer and owner and founder of Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rasmussen is currently main engineer/producer at Sweet Silence North in Helsingør. Throughout his career, Rasmussen has worked with many different music genres, but is best known for his work with heavy metal.
Flemming Rasmussen must be considered one of the greatest heavy metal producers of all-time. After all, he co-produced what many headbangers believe to be Metallica's three best albums: 1984's Ride the Lightning, 1986's tour de force Master of Puppets, and 1988's. And Justice for All. The Danish engineer, producer, mixer is also the founder and owner of Sweet Silence Studios, which is where Metallica recorded the first two aforementioned classics (at the studio's original location, in Copenhagen). I had to decline doing the Justice album because I was booked elsewhere, and got into it after like, a month and a half. They had already gotten somebody else to mix it. I had no hand in the mix, whatsoever.

During the 90s and early 00s, the studio spat out prominent metal records counting Blind Guardian's 'Imaginations from the Other Side', Ensiferum's 'Iron' amongst many more. Rasmussen is currently working as the main producer and engineer at the 2018-established studio called Sweet Silence North, located in the outskirts of Copenhagen, DK. 'All the Metallica-albums I did was recorded on analog tape and the DAW was not invented at the time. In the old days it was more the people you worked with and the studios you worked in that defined whether or not you did a well-souding album or not. Today it's a lot easier. Everybody has a computer - basically everybody with a computer can record an album'. TonePrints by Flemming Rasmussen.

At that time, One On One was equipped with an E‑Series 48‑channel SSL 4000, two 24‑track Studer tape machines and Tannoy monitors, which the producer bypassed in favour of his own JBL 4311s. Flemming Rasmussen agrees: "It's inaudible. Jason, Toby and I are probably the only people who know what the bass parts actually sounded like on that album, and that's down to Lars and James. I didn't mix Justice - Steve Thompson and Mike Barbiero were already hired to do that before I became involved with the project, and after Lars and James heard their initial mixes the first thing they said was, 'Take the bass down so you can just hear it, and then once you've done that take it down a further 3dBs.
