During "The Black Parade" era, Mikey Way preferred various Fender basses, most notably Jazz models (including Geddy Lee model), but used Precision as well. In the official video, he is seen with the Fender American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass. Ray Toro and Frank Iero. For the recording of "The Black Parade," they relied on a 100 watt Marshall JCM800 head Ray borrowed from Rob Cavallo after his Marshall JCM 2000 DSL100 broke down during pre-production. He has described the JCM800 as being the "loudest and ballsiest amp" he has ever heard
