Kerry Chater – Part Time Love lyrics. There was a time in my life When I thought that I would die If I didn't have you Couldn't have you along. You were a sweet song to me But as far as I could see You were more than willing To spread your music around. Part time love with a full time man Never gonna be worked out Full time dreams with a part time plan It ain't what love's about Part time love just don't work out With a full time man. It took me too many years To get over all those fears Just to see it happen Let it happen again. But you may talk a different.

Kerry Chater cut two albums for Warner Bros. That enlisted some of the West Coast's top session and producing talent and have since become minor classics of the singer/songwriter 'light mellow' genre. Includes liner notes by Gene.

Part Time Love didn't do much on the charts, nor did its 1978 successor, Love on a Shoestring, but in 1979 he landed his first big hit as a writer when Jennifer Warnes took "I Know a Heartache When I See One" into the Top Ten. After that, he had steady success on the country charts for the next decade or so, highlighted by Lee Greenwood's 1983 single ". nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Song), a pair of number one country singles in 1983 (George Strait's "You Look So Good in Love," Reba McEntire's "You're the First. Although he never had that run of success again, Chater continued to work in Nashville - his last charting single of note was Jessica Andrews' "You Go First (Do You Wanna Kiss)" in 1989 - and also wrote thriller novels with his wife, Lynn Gillespie-Chater. Stephen Thomas Erlewine.
