Norwegian singer Trine Rein covered the Ednaswap song Torn in 1996 (One year before Ednaswap’s second version and Natalie Imbruglia’s version were released) on her second album Beneath My Skin. It was released as the album’s first single. Phil Thornalley, who produced Ednaswap’s first version and Natalie Imbruglia’s version also produced Trine Rein’s version.

Julegaven (The Christmas Gift) w. MAF Norway. Trine Rein released her first solo album in 1993, Finders, Keepers. It peaked at the top of the Norwegian album chart for no less than five weeks. But as she was almost unknown before the release, it took her 14 weeks - more than three months - to finally have the most popular album in Norway. And due to the extensive foreign press coverage of the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer February 1994, her album was soon a hit in Japan as well. At one time she topped 16 different Japanese radio station charts simultaneously

Trine Rein is one of quite few Norwegian artists who has one million in record sales. Almost unknown before the release, only 14 weeks after the release in 1993, her first album, "Finders Keepers", topped the Norwegian album charts for five subsequent weeks. Her debut album sold more than 600,000 copies, of which 400,000 were sold in Japan.
