1996 soundtrack album by Various artists. Songs in the Key of X: Music from and Inspired by The X-Files. Soundtrack album by. Various artists. March 19, 1996 (1996-03-19). The song "Hands of Death (Burn Baby Burn)" received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1997, losing to Rage Against the Machine. The album also features two songs hidden in the pregap before the start of the first track, both recorded by Nick Cave and The Dirty Three. Browne felt that the contributions to the album by Sheryl Crow and William S. Burroughs were amongst its highlights, though felt that the compilation was "dragged down by ponderous contributions" from Nick Cave and Elvis Costello.

Cover Album (カバALBUM) is the first cover album and second mini-album released by Japanese soloist misono. It charted on Oricon at and remained on the charts for four weeks. The album was released on the same day as her fourteenth single, Urusei Yatsura no Theme: Lum no Love Song/Me. The album was released solely as a CD, although a music video for the first song, "misono to Utaou! Animedley I", was placed on the aforementioned single.

Cash’s 2002 cover managed to turn the whole thing on its head with a mere shift in tone and a subdued honky-tonk vibe. It is a rare but beautiful thing when a cover can right a song in history. Found on the band’s 1970 album Loaded, the Velvet Underground original is a stately ballad, influenced by Lou Reed’s adoration of ‘50s doo-wop and dreamy Phil Spector productions, complete with a spoken word lament/plea to a lover. Chan Marshall’s version, by contrast, is of a piece with most of the material she recorded for her 2000 Covers Record.

From Elvis Presley to FKA Twigs, here are the 50 greatest album covers of all time. The cover echoes its content: there’s the pretty - lead singer Gwen Stefani channels ‘50s pinup poster girl imagery - and the ugly, a wilting tree with rotting oranges and flies circling the bruised fruit.

The album cover is to the left of the song list. Doing so prompts a drop-down menu.

An album cover is the front of the packaging of a commercially released audio recording product, or album. The term can refer to either the printed cardboard covers typically used to package sets of 10 in (25 cm) and 12 in (30 cm) 78-rpm records, single and sets of 12 in (30 cm) LPs, sets of 45 rpm records (either in several connected sleeves or a box), or the front-facing panel of a CD package, and, increasingly, the primary image accompanying a digital download of the album, or of its individual tracks.

Just what is it that makes an album cover great? The weight of public opinion counts for a lot and undoubtedly the quality of the music helps our mindset on the matter, but there’s also that little old thing called subjectivity. Now we bet most of you will have, at some time or another, bought an album because of the cover. In 1961, when Mick Jagger met Keith Richards on Dartford railway station, Keith was carry-ing Chuck Berry’s One Dozen Berry. nd see what that spawned.
