Mötley Crüe: The Rolling Stone Album Guide. In 1983, Sixx told a reporter, We could just fall apart tomorrow or go straight to the top, because we’re such extremists as personalities. To fully appreciate what goes into that cathartic ninety minutes, just stand next to Paul Dexter at the back of the floor during a Mötley show. His leg thumping with the beat, the blond, bleary-eyed Dexter calls cues through a headset while he and two assistants finger computerized controls for 1600 lights, which are mounted on mobile grids, and smoke, fire and sparklers during the sixteensong set.

The album covers for Mötley Crüe first two albums Too Fast For Love (1981) and Shout At The Devil (1983) are nearly exact copies of album covers by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Check it ou. ötley Crüe – Too Fast For Love & The Rolling Stones – Sticky Fingers. Mötley Crüe – Shout At The Devil & The Beatles Let It Be. I would hope Mötley Crüe did it as a gesture of respect rather then not having original ideas.

In the Mötley Crüe: The End - Live In Los Angeles DVD, bass player Nikki Sixx said of this song: "It was a response to us from being gone so long during Shout At The Devil. It was our first time. A tour bus picked us up at our little tiny apartments and we took off to go play some shows, and 18 months later we got dropped back in our little apartments. We didn't know what to do, so we started writing songs for Theater Of Pain and 'Home Sweet Home' started to come out. The lyrics came out of that feeling of being gone so long and wanting to come back, which is ironic, right? Because all you ever want is to get in a band and go on the road, but then you're on the road and you want to come home. When this song was first released in 1985, it peaked at in the US. In 1991, a new version was released as "Home Sweet Home '91," which made it to #37.
