Oh! Pleasant Hope is the sixth, and last, album by Blue Cheer until 1983's The Beast Is Back. It features less psychedelia and hard rock and includes more folk rock elements. This is an unusual Blue Cheer album in that Dickie Peterson only sings lead on three songs

PLEASANT HOPE holds together quite well considering it seems more like a family-reunion send off than a band effort. The album's excellent denim and quilt cover art is a perfect fit with the more laid-back contents within. The 2007 remastered Japanese CD is probably the best this admittedly muddy sounding production will ever sound. The mini-LP sleeve reproduces the cover beautifully and comes with an obi, a booklet mostly in Japanese, and a CD designed like the old Philips Records label
