Experimental electronic music producer Klara Lewis, the daughter of Wire bass player Graham Lewis, grew up in Sweden and made tentative steps toward making music in 2009. Creating her unique, minimalist music using field recordings, found sounds, samples, and digital manipulation, Lewis debuted with the self-released 2012 EP in 2012.

Klara Lewis - Too "It can be everyday sounds or tiny bits from a track or from a movie," says Klara Lewis of her sampling. Inspiration can come from any kind of source. Lewis's music often reminds me of another champion of the everyday, Helm. The rest of the album is similar. Plenty of Lewis's processed samples are attractive, but she smears and darkens them until they're just vague shapes in the distance. Percussion, when it appears, is a vague funereal thud, and voices are unintelligible.

Digging into Klara Lewis' second full-length, Amelia Phillips finds an artist balanced on the knife edge of internal/external experience, and a musical narrative that puts the listener at the subjective forefront even as it details and abstracts the objectivity of the physical world around it. It’s hard to deny your expectations when listening to new material by an artist, particularly one as lauded as Klara Lewis. While her dad’s fame (Graham Lewis of Wire) may have sparked discussion about her debut Ett, it’s solely Klara’s reputation that has fuelled the hype for her second album.

Lewis’ skill at sculpting the hermetic shines on Too as she twists her idiosyncratic vision into nine tracks of blurred rhythms and haunted backdrops.

With Wolke Hegenbarth, Alexa Maria Surholt, Christoph Hagen Dittmann, Jan Niklas Berg. After losing her job at a cuckoo clock factory Klara Degen starts working as a maternity leave fill-in secretary at the local criminal investigation department. She soon oversteps boundaries of her area of competence and interferes in investigations.
